First of a multi-series post where I hope to provide a personal but accurate portrayal of a Wisconsin winter. Especially for those of you in climates without snow. For which I envy you.
It is going to be an overload of pictures but it is an illustrative themed post. This being the primary reason for posting a short series. Too many pictures. My photos are all taken with my cell. Simple, unprofessional snapshots cause I liked what I saw. And despite itself, snow is pretty!
From sunrise to sunset the views can be stunning.
Although I would never brag that Wisconsin winters are fun I cannot deny the beauty and wonder of these uniquely awesome scenes created all by Mother Nature.
So much to enjoy and endure. This post focuses on the typical daily sights of a snow covered world. The 'enjoy' part of the season.
Even the jogger in the background is typical.. life goes on regardless of weather. Although in my opinion jogging could wait. Lol
And then there is us.....can't keep a little snow from ruining New Year's Eve.
Pets and wildlife troop right along. Pretty sure the turkeys enjoy it much more than our Little Bit. Snow gets too deep and we end up shoveling a spot for her to do her business.
And it is hard to face the day when you see this first thing.
I lets take a tour of the sights.
This is our yard after clearing sidewalks and driveway. We really do run out of space of snow.
They are going to need a bigger building?
And here I am standing on the frozen lake for this photo. This lighthouse is no longer functional, just a local attraction.
And the mail has to be delivered...rain, sleet, snow or dark of night.
I have tons more pics but I hope this has given you an insight to life in a climate of snow and cold.
Part two will follow as soon as possible. Hope you are intrigued and check for the uglier part of winter that we endure.
Thank you.
