Thank you for the lesson, I can go all fancy at parties now. I would love to know about French wines, SA, Italian and what they mean when they say sweet wine or dry wine, that's all confusing for me.

Wine can be sweet, semi-sweet or dry and this just refers to the sweetness or residual sugar in a wine. When a wine is dry, it means that during fermentation all the sugar in the grape sugar is converted to alcohol. I will put that in my next wine post.
