Review: Charles Shaw Chardonnay White Wine

in #wine7 years ago

Charles Shaw is often dubbed "2 Buck Chuck" and it comes from Trader Joe's Wine Store on 14th Street in Manhattan. My friend and I bought a 6 pack of Charles Shaw the other day and we have been drinking the various flavors.

I really enjoyed the Chardonnay which said it was made in California (not Napa Valley). It tastes just as good as any brand name wine. It's the same with the Pinot Grigio. I would definitely recommend Charles Shaw wine. At around $30 a case, there's no excuse not to drink it unless you don't live in an area with the store.

Nooo! Don't to it! LOL. Charles Shaw wine is made from the poorest quality grapes. Wineries sell their grapes to the company that makes Shaw when the grapes aren't good enough to go into their own wine. Granted, I used to drink it when I was young, poor and going to art school, but, now, I can't even stomach the idea.

I can't believe it's selling for $30 for 12 bottles. That's just crazy.

But hey, if you enjoy it, that's what matters. ;-)

Wow I didn't know that. I never really found a problem with the flavor although I do prefer TJ's Purple Moon brand which is slightly more upscale. But then again I am just a beginner in the world of wine, transitioning from beer actually.

Purple Moon is one step up, but still just junk grapes as we call them. But hey, I started drinking wine with wine like that, too, so onwards and upwards. I look forward to reading more about what you're trying!

Yeah I'm always interested in getting new wines lol.
