RE: Windows 10 - The Spying Money Maker (featuring @minion as author)

in #windows8 years ago

Yes both "versions" are circling the Internet, I let you decide.
https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2016/01/04/windows-10-now-active-on-over-200-million-devices/#EFHPP7BiyWgoQChH.97

  • Over 44.5 billion minutes spent in Microsoft Edge across Windows 10 devices in just the last month.
  • Over 2.5 billion questions asked of Cortana since launch.
  • Around 30% more Bing search queries per Windows 10 device versus prior versions of Windows.
  • Over 82 billion photos viewed within the Windows 10 Photo app.

To be clear, I'm not claiming any of this to be true or not, it's up to the user to decide and as stated in the post, even if they where spying, they would do that purely for advertising purposes.

Sort:

Telemetry is not the same as spying.

That's a "hard word" for the public to consume. Yeah I know the difference between the two. ;)
The purpose is to let people know that, "something is happening under the hood" and that it's not that bad as presented.

That's very different from "The Spying Money Maker". :)

Would a non techy click on a title: Windows 10 Telemetry? hahahhaha :))
