I would suggest to put the hdb earned from the posts into the savings fund, so it can pay for itself long term from the interest or just as a buffer ^^

Your question is very valid. Currently @meno and I are pulling some resources to get this project going, but I truly believe that in a short time this game will reach more Hiveans, and will accrue enough upvotes to sustain itself and give out prizes.
This is my hope... won't know for sure unless I try.
