Day 24:) What’s next?

Parents and friends might have asked you what will you do after passing your matriculation? We generally never discuss about our career goals before that. Just in a span of time of 2 months, we want to know our career that we will pursue for the rest of our life. Still most of us end, taking up the decision, without even knowing the things in detail.

After graduation, there is again the options among job, higher education and business/startup. Thereafter, people will start asking about your marriage. Wherever you go, they will ask your age and ask you to get married. They won’t even ask whether you are interested or not. They just start suggesting your other mate. The situation turns out to be very difficult in native places, especially in Rajasthan, where people get married in early 20s.
Most probably people might push you for kids after that. It has been x years for your marriage, you should have a child now. After having the baby, the cycle continues with some tweaks.

There are many what’s next question we come up from interval to interval. But what’s the best time to think upon these questions? The way the best time to learn swimming is not while drowning but well before that, same way the right time to ask is not when the next step of life depends on it but well before that. Most of the time we procrastinate things until it is a necessity. We need to move the time frame of necessity.

You may have different experiences from your upbringing that you would or wouldn’t want to happen in your next generation. Why don’t you share the things you would like to carry forward and things you would like to change? Looking forward to your valuable inputs.

Happy Wednesday (:
