A bold statement but one I tend to agree with, maybe not here, but in many Steemit posts in general. There is a ton of fluff in posts and tons of brown-nosers who upvote whales just to be like those pilotfish that swim under sharks trying to catch scraps. I have been saying things like this for a while now. How posts that are somewhat banal get hundreds of $$$ just because they have a lot of people following them who want to somehow elevate themselves by kissing butt and yet the post itself gives very little in the way of content, especially unique and valuable content. I also think the model is set up wrong. People should get $$$ for upvotes but not based on who upvoted them because no one vote should be more powerful than anothers. I think Steemit should implement a thumbs up and down model instead along with a views counter that also factors in. The reputation score should remain so we know who is clickbaiting and who is producing content. Otherwise I see no way for users, especially users that aren't able to throw thousands of $$$ into SP, to thrive here. I hate putting hours into a post and it gets seen by ~30-50 people, upvoted by ~2-10 and commented by ~0-2. It is disincentivized to upvote so you can keep it for yourself or your circle of self promoters and to me that's wrong. Especially if "whales" can flag users so there posts are worthless and the minnow does not have the SP to do anything about it. It has turned into a place where the whales dominate every area and new users and old alike cannot break through because people hesitate to Upvote, only Upvote whales who make a ton for each "less than stellar" post, while us minnows can spend tons of time and effort creating truly unique content and not just Steemit commentary for nada. Too much fluff and it is making really great writers not want to waste their time by playing these Steemit games. Upvotes should be hidden and each equal and then those who create valuable content and have a real following will be the ones who are making the sweet STEEM. Also tagging articles is impossible to be able to reach every user. This is just more gaming of the system creating circles of voting teams who never upvote anyone outside of their little group of whales, meanwhile without the prospect of upward mobility no one is going to waste their time creating the good content that will keep Steemit a "thing". It will just devolve into whales posting about Steemit and Upvoting each other until STEEM is worthless because nothing of value is being posted. Sorry for the rant. One last point. Posts should have a lifetime window to receive rewards. If it doesn't than posts that are great will just be created and not receiving anything because it didn't get all the Upvotes in the first week of its existence. Just think of those YouTube videos from like 15 years ago that have ~9 million+ views because they were INTERNET GOLD and are still searched for and watched today! If they were only seen for a week and thrown into the trash than people would stop wasting their time. Frustrated!

Thanks for all those points.
We are appreciate yours input.
Perhaps as a suggestion, why don't you write a post out. So others Big Whales can Read it.
As far as this goes, we have been helping many little accounts up as we go.
@bullionstackers
I just get really frustrated when i see people take pictures if there vacation and get huge rewards every single time and other users make a great post and it gets nothing. In my opinion its not healthy for Steemit. But I do think DTube could change everything. I am all about that and will ride that til the wheels fall off
@wwamd
Here a bit of incentive for coming back.
totally agree but I think this is what happens in most of the social media.
Very well said, wwamd. 👍 I'm new here and still trying to figure out the law of the land. I saw the other day a group that charges a membership fee. I like #whalepower because it does not do that and the curators actually read the content before voting. 🙂
