@bullionstackers has do a very good work in here..that why i feel great to join in this #whalepower team.
he always check every post before give an upvote. That's a something hard to do..because its not about one or two post which use whalepower tag, there a hundreds post out there using whalepower tag. we should give @bullionstackers big appreciation. :)

I fully agreed that the #whalepower team have been helpful and guide me along when I first started. Being new I do not know what to tag and how to tag and that I need to put in the source of photos. Therefore I appreciate the efforts of them reading my article.
Thanks
@jackpot

That's why #whalepower team is different and much more efficient, hat down for the good job you guys are doing

Manually curating isnt easy. Good job there!

Yeah its not easy. Good to see you still supporting @bullionstackers krys. Keep up the good work.

Yes, real readers and human upvotes can be worth much more than vote-bots - and collectively, we can make the best content rise to the top.

That is sure taking time, can't believe how much pointless spam is getting the votes

Exactly the reason why I admire #whalepower... It's indeed a project/community which helps steemit have quality contents in a way, since you're manually curating and supporting worth it authors. <3

More power #whalepower... :)

PS: Take care @paul-gillbanks...

@paul-gillbanks still in bad condition? hope he will get better soon..

Manual curation takes time and effort - hopefully that effort is repaid in people then reading and voting on the best content being produced.

This is how publishing still works, with writers and agents and sub-editors and editors and, finally, publishers. The online world has merely reinforced that the whole process from creator to reader is paved, ultimately, with trust.

Apart from #Curie and #Whalepower, there is also the Minnows Accelerator Project.

#whalepower has helped me to find new authors by giving a community that I can check everyday. Go #whalepower !

That is why I like manual curating. It weeds out the ones that are trying to rip off Steemit. And I only want an upvote if it is something that people actually read and like it. Thanks for all of your hard work @bullionstackers.

Thanks @bullionstackers. I only read and follow you to see where interesting posts are.

Very powerful whalepower.

Thank you for this article!

As the smallest of minnows, I find myself struggling to make sense of everything that goes on with Steemit. However, I don't upvote anything I didn't read first, and most times I will add a comment that is not just fluff.

It seems to me, the point is to build a community of people who want to read each others work. If it is all about who can get the next $1000 article, then it's really a waste!

I appreciate the efforts of manual curation. I will certainly be looking out for whalepower to see how I can get involved.

Thanks!!

@mikepm74
Here, something for you. Upp by one Reputation

appreciate that! i can use all the somethings i can get!!

steem on!

Hey man, I really appreciate the whole #whalepower thing and I'm following you with interest. However, the amount of boilerplate and self-promoting in these posts is really making it hard to find the actual content in it.

When I open an article I'd like to be able to see which part is relevant and which isn't. In this post I really had to look three times to see what was the actual content.

whalepower.png

As you can see, less than 50% is actually interesting. Maybe I'm the only one who's a little annoyed by this, but hopefully you don't mind me giving some feedback :)

@pilcrow
Thanks for your input, we always like to hear authors concern and ideas.
I will put in my notes. There are always room for improvement.

A bold statement but one I tend to agree with, maybe not here, but in many Steemit posts in general. There is a ton of fluff in posts and tons of brown-nosers who upvote whales just to be like those pilotfish that swim under sharks trying to catch scraps. I have been saying things like this for a while now. How posts that are somewhat banal get hundreds of $$$ just because they have a lot of people following them who want to somehow elevate themselves by kissing butt and yet the post itself gives very little in the way of content, especially unique and valuable content. I also think the model is set up wrong. People should get $$$ for upvotes but not based on who upvoted them because no one vote should be more powerful than anothers. I think Steemit should implement a thumbs up and down model instead along with a views counter that also factors in. The reputation score should remain so we know who is clickbaiting and who is producing content. Otherwise I see no way for users, especially users that aren't able to throw thousands of $$$ into SP, to thrive here. I hate putting hours into a post and it gets seen by ~30-50 people, upvoted by ~2-10 and commented by ~0-2. It is disincentivized to upvote so you can keep it for yourself or your circle of self promoters and to me that's wrong. Especially if "whales" can flag users so there posts are worthless and the minnow does not have the SP to do anything about it. It has turned into a place where the whales dominate every area and new users and old alike cannot break through because people hesitate to Upvote, only Upvote whales who make a ton for each "less than stellar" post, while us minnows can spend tons of time and effort creating truly unique content and not just Steemit commentary for nada. Too much fluff and it is making really great writers not want to waste their time by playing these Steemit games. Upvotes should be hidden and each equal and then those who create valuable content and have a real following will be the ones who are making the sweet STEEM. Also tagging articles is impossible to be able to reach every user. This is just more gaming of the system creating circles of voting teams who never upvote anyone outside of their little group of whales, meanwhile without the prospect of upward mobility no one is going to waste their time creating the good content that will keep Steemit a "thing". It will just devolve into whales posting about Steemit and Upvoting each other until STEEM is worthless because nothing of value is being posted. Sorry for the rant. One last point. Posts should have a lifetime window to receive rewards. If it doesn't than posts that are great will just be created and not receiving anything because it didn't get all the Upvotes in the first week of its existence. Just think of those YouTube videos from like 15 years ago that have ~9 million+ views because they were INTERNET GOLD and are still searched for and watched today! If they were only seen for a week and thrown into the trash than people would stop wasting their time. Frustrated!

@wwamd
Thanks for all those points.
We are appreciate yours input.
Perhaps as a suggestion, why don't you write a post out. So others Big Whales can Read it.
As far as this goes, we have been helping many little accounts up as we go.
@bullionstackers

I just get really frustrated when i see people take pictures if there vacation and get huge rewards every single time and other users make a great post and it gets nothing. In my opinion its not healthy for Steemit. But I do think DTube could change everything. I am all about that and will ride that til the wheels fall off

@wwamd
Here a bit of incentive for coming back.

totally agree but I think this is what happens in most of the social media.

Very well said, wwamd. 👍 I'm new here and still trying to figure out the law of the land. I saw the other day a group that charges a membership fee. I like #whalepower because it does not do that and the curators actually read the content before voting. 🙂

Thanks for everything you do. @bullionstackers

A great work that gives lot of value! Manual made comments are much more fun to read and much more personal. Thanks very much for doing this!

Sounds good as posts with good contents will be given attention. :)

Good job... Your actions are very good and fair for all. I support you.

I used your tags a few times, not sure if anyone checked my stuff. Neoxian upvoted me a few times before that but then I pissed him off....I hope we are cool now haha.

Anyways. This is great, I really hate that so much upvoting gets done by bots because it almost ruins the point of writing this stuff. If this is all just SEOs what am I putting my heart into it for, right? So anks for reading content, even if it's not mine!

What are you doing?

Amazing project

I was wondering... how is it going? Are the flagging-attacks over?

@pixelfan
I am not too sure... those CraZy CloWns may be attacking at anytime.
They are Arrogant and do not reply.
Pointless to talk to them. Have reported to the higher authorities, even that still no replies from them all.
The truth is No Body Cares! Until the Wars starts....

Hopefully they get tired of those pointless attacks... Think ignoring is the best thing to do... I keep an eye on your feed and if you call for help I'll be there. I know it's not much but if everybody does this...

Ya gotta read em! Glad you are still patrolling the means streets of steemit dude!

You still drawing?

@meesterboom
Yes, every now and then.
I guess after 12 months of hard working, as we all grows up, we tend to take different direction.
I find #steemit lack of fine Manual Curators. Here I am ... helping them out.
@bullionstackers

Keep up the great work you are doing out there. Many new ones still need your help and assistance.
More will understand and support you.
Thanks
@jackpot

Keep it up then dudester!

Nice..it's better that way. We - as the author - would definitely be happy if someone read what we wrote.

This is wonderful, an upboat with the heart, this is what we need on steemit. And not the heartless bot who just upvote not knowing what the content is.

I am manually curating! Steem ON!

Amazing! It's good you separated the difference between the two manual and auto curating. People will sooner or later know that copy and paste or plagiarizing is highly frowned at by Steemit community.

Originality and being yourself pays always!

How good that there is some content editing or curation or whatever you do. I've been a writer for years and try to put content up there that is readable, educational or amusing. I see come comments of one word, but I will not follow suit. I'm still not clear on how one actually makes money out of Steemit but I do have some badges of which I am very proud. By the way thank you and I appreciate the ease of which content can be added. Great stuff. JV ps: How do I get people to follow me, i don't like asking. Should I start making videos?

I believe in giving real value here. I'm doing my best all the time when I'm on Steemit. I'm trying to make interesting content and before publish comment, I always read posts. Thanks for post @bullionstackers!

Double benefit. We write to be read. And when you find those who spam, recycle what they write every week, plagerize etc., then you slap the crap!

@aboutyourbiz
We don't encourage recycle materials, as many others will need to be look at too.
Posts after posts get buried very easily here. No one will look at them after 12 hours.
That's the facts.

I don't think I was clear. I meant it's a benefit that you actually read because we write to be read.

It's also a benefit that you read because you find the spam and recycled etc material to deal with appropriately.

@aboutyourbiz
You hit the Nail..!
Bonus for your comment. Thanks

No, thank you :)

"Hit a nail"
is an idioms

vote something that deserve it
not just an easy write or copy paste post
thats why i write all post before i decide whether to vote ore not
when we vote something with easy cheap content doesn't it embracing plagiarism ?

I hope you will allow me to use your tag? @bullionstackers I write articles about breeding and caring for flowers.

Thank you for creating and running this service. I think manual curation is the lifeblood of steemit. Its the only true way to determine genuine and good content and I believe it helps fight the spammers and plagiarisers. We need more manual curations groups in steemit!
