This is the story from last year when ten sperm whales were stranded in the northern part of Sumatra Island. In a beach called Ujong Kareung in Aceh Besar. The local fist noticed this rare phenomena on Monday morning , 13 November 2017.
University students along with local residents and government people put many efforts to rescue this beautiful giants.

Several vessels, including local fishermen boats were seen circling around the whales in order to pull them back to the vast ocean. University students tried to cover the whales with wet blanket.
After trying all day, only seven whales could be saved and swam back to the sea. Three whales with scars and blood could not be saved. Actually among those three, one of them has been pulled by the ship to the sea but after a while he returned to the beach and died along with others.
A year before one whale was also found stranded nearby and could not be saved. This happening drew a lot of crowd who were very keen to see these giant animals. It was also the first time for me to see this big animal in such a close range, and I can tell they are dying from the way they sounds....
Finally I would like to show the picture of a whale who swam back to the vast ocean. Freedom.
