I remember the first time I actually went swing dancing.
A friend from out of town was coming and invited a number of us to go to a local swing dancing function. Having never attempted any such feat, I was hesitant to go, but after she mentioned that there would be an hour before hand devoted to a “basics” lesson, I figured “Why not? ”
I could feel my palms beginning to sweat as I took my partners hands and began the first fumbling steps, I had a hard time remembering where to put my feet and I kept asking my partner (who was more experienced than I) “Am I doing it right?”
As it turned out I was not doing it right, but over the course of the evening I began to get better, and more confident in my movements. By the time the last song played, I was dancing about the room with all the grace of a three legged dog, but I was dancing!
I can’t help but draw a parallel between that first time dancing, and my first attempts at hypnotizing myself.
I found myself laying on the couch listening to a smooth voiced audio telling me to imagine myself walking down a flight of stairs, and wondering if I was “doing it right.”
Since then I’ve learned a good bit more about hypnosis (and dancing). Hypnosis is a skill, though it can be learned much faster than dancing. Because hypnosis is something that you do all the time to yourself anyway. Whether you know it or not, you go in and out of hypnotic “loops” regularly.
That first time hypnotizing myself was over 4 or 5 years ago now, and since then not only have I learned to hypnotize myself, but also how to hypnotize other people.
I’ve become a certified hypnotherapist, and now offer hypnosis services to people around the globe through the medium of Skype.
I help guide people’s minds through the “steps” of going into and changing the different loops in their own lives.
If you would like to use hypnosis to change something in your own life, such as losing weight, quitting an addiction such as smoking or porn, or you are looking to gain confidence and focus on your goals I would love to help.
