CRUEL SETHROPOD SPLINTERLANDS WEEKLY BATTLE CHALLENGE

in #weeklychallenge3 years ago

THE LORE

Sailors tell many tales of the dangers of the Cruel Sethropods. Armed with strong pincers and teeth as sharp as spears, they attack anything that gets within range. It is nearly impossible to remove a Cruel Sethropod once it has latched on, and many a sailor has the scars to show where they ventured too close.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Edition: CHAOS LEGION
  • Rarity: COMMON
  • Element: WATER
  • Attack: MELEE
  • Abilities: NONE AT ANY LEVEL
Cruel Sethropod is a Caos Legion card belong to water element. Despite his cute shrimp form he could be very dangerous to deal with. Thanks to his stats he could be a valid first position card in your team especially agains melee or ranged monsters in a low mana cap matches, where in general low damage monsters are picked in battle.

THE BATTLE

My current league is Silver III.
Silver is a total different league in my opinion compared to bronze because you start to have double rulesets and also a higher mana cap for the battle, that allow the player to unlock the full capacity of their decks.
The manacap of the battle is 18, and the summoner allowed for the match are Fire, Life, Water and Death

RULESET OF THE BATTLE

SUPER SNEAK

All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.

EQUALIZER

The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

As you can see in the image above it is a summoner mirror battle.

KEYLA FRENDUL

I have chosen Kayla Frendul, water element summoner that boost my monsters with +1 speed and +1 armor.
I think that armor could help my monsters to better survive to the enemy attacks. Furthermore, higher speed increase the chance to dodge enemy melee and ranged attack.

CRUEL SETHHROPOD

I picked Cruel Sethropod as first position monsters to adsorb damages thanks to his high armor.

HARDY STONEFISH

I choose him to adsorb more damage from the enemy monsters because i tried to use the equalizer ability to increase the health of my monsters to deal more damage to the enemy use my backline DPS.

ICE PIXIE

I picked Ice Pixie to deal magic damage and avoid the armor of the enemy monsters. She has also the flying ability and a high speed that increase the dodge chance.

KULU SWIMHUNTER

A ranged monster with two damage points is really strong in my opinion in a low mana cap battle. For this reason i put him in my fourth position. Well protected from enemy sneak damage.

PELACOR BANDIT

I picked Pelacor Bandit due to his high speed and flying ability. The dodge chance are increased and every miss he gets more damage my Kulu Swimhunter will do.

CHAOS AGENT

Last but not least the Chaos Agent. Thanks to his dodge ability the rate of dodge are increase, that means that the enemy sneak attack have a high chance to miss him!

My strategy was to use the equalizer ruleset to increase the health of my monsters based on the highest health of the enemy monsters. In this way i put in the first position two monsters in order to absorb a lot of damage to give the chance of my dps monster to deal as much damage as he could. In the same way i put two monsters in the back with high dodge chance to increase the miss of the enemy melee sneak attack. This strategy worked really well and i won the battle.

I like to play with water element and often i use Cruel Sethropod with the strategy i shown above. This strategy helped me a lot to win low cap mana battle!

Let me know if you use also this strategy in the comment!

See you soon guys!
Enjoy the game!
