Weekend-Engagement writing prompts: WEEK 138: My excitement

Everyone's greetings are heartfelt.

The excitement

Name one thing that gets you truly excited about your own life. Tell us what it is, why it excites you, and what that thing, feeling, or emotion means moving forward in life. Write at least 300 words.

This is an interesting topic to discuss. It's an opportunity to tell you what keeps me excited always.

I am a lover of sport and music, and each time I see myself doing either of these things, it gladdens me, so the more I look excited, the more I feel excited. Football has been my dream right from when I was a child, and I grew up with that mentality of becoming a great footballer, but my parents couldn't see that as my passion or what keeps me excited. Instead of encouraging me, they bully me, not knowing that they are depriving me of my own happiness. When it's evening, my friends will dress up and go for training, while I will be at home doing nothing, simply because my parents don't want me. Football is my passion. And during that time, our pastor normally tells us the portion of the Bible that says children should honor their father and mother and that their days will be long, so I have no choice but to obey them, but they didn't know that was my source of happiness.

The musical aspect of my life

I don't think anyone loves music the way I do. Each time I am angry, I do pick up my headset and listen to some good music, and that's how I will get excited again.

Four years ago, I had this passion for playing instruments, but there was no one to build me up, and we had just one pianist in church, and I was the drummer then. So one Sunday the pianist didn't come to church because he went for recruitment into the Nigerian Army. So the church was so boring that there was no one to play the piano, which made my pastor chase us from the band setting to join the congregation. That was so annoying, but I didn't see it that way; rather, I took it upon myself as a challenge, and I started practicing and kept pressing myself to do better until I became what I am today. Most of my friends today will be ashamed of themselves because they were before me. Since then, it has been my dream to grow higher and higher in music.

I do play the piano with the motive of playing for people like Frank Edward, G.u.c, Tim Godfrey, Moses Bliss, Travis green e.t.c and I believe with constant practice it will come to pass. My excitement is my number one priority. Music has brought many friends to me; some of them even call me famous. Are you coming? Let's have fun playing the instrument; it'll give us more means of getting excited.

Thanks for spending your precious time on my blog.

Sorry that your parents did not share your passion for football. I hope parents learn to support their kids if their chosen career path or interest does not align with their expectation. Sometimes, kids do well in something they love. Happy though that you are learning to play piano. Wish you all the best as you pursue this hobby

Thanks a lot for your contribution
