You know how some people will tell you that they didn't get high the first time they smoked... Those people are idiots. They didn't do it right or they smoked tobacco. As a consumer for many years and even remembering the days that a quarter was 20 bucks I can definitely put my two cents in a good head to head of smoking vs eating.
Smoking
To some of us it's an every once in a while kind of thing, to others it's the first thing you do in the morning. I go from both ends of the spectrum depending on my mood, but I can't deny that a nice rolled joint is one of my favorite ways to relax and kick back. It's so perfect, when you are by the river or at a BBQ in the back yard. It's just amazing. With recent innovations and popularization even smoking has become more and more differentiated. You can do blunts, or you can heat up a nail and take a dab. You can even smoke from something that plugs into your computer like a vape pen!! How awesome is that? Smoking is social. You go to a party and someone brought a joint, you know that person will be your friend even if you never met them before. It's a way to make friends and have something in common with them... The love of trees :)
Eating
Everybody, and I mean everybody is familiar with the infamous pot brownie. But this is the 21st Century. You can now get a drink, a granola bar or even a mint that will get you very very fucked up. Go to your local dispensary (or go to Colorado) and your mind will be blown. You like muffins? There's weed in that. You like chocolates? There is weed in that. You like coffee? No problem. It's amazing how far edibles have come. 60% of newbies try edibles these days. It's discrete and it gets the job done, sometimes even a bit of an overkill. It's also a bit healthier since you don't get any smoke in your lungs. But when the chocolate calls for 1/10th of the bar and you eat the whole thing you can quickly regret eating it. lol
The Verdict
I drift from one to the other. The last few months I've only had edibles. I cook them myself so I know how strong they are and I enjoy them as a part of my diet. I have salad dressings and granola bars that I use and I have lots of fun. It's sometimes kind of slow to kick in but if you keep eating them every few hours you feel great the whole day. On the other hand, when someone comes over, I bust out the bud. I can't sit there and wait for 2 hours before it kicks in. And it's much more social to pass something around than to eat one brownie and tell the other person to be careful ;)
Smoking is something i can do everyday & still be functional, but edibles, as you said gets me too very fucked up.. edibles are usually consumed by me while making them, i made everything from brownies to chocolates, cookies & now am give milkshakes a go, so trying out new recipes usually gives me a pretty decent kick too.
However, i like my nicely rolled joints too... check out my profile to see all the things i've made..
nice post !!
For sure. I dose mine with dabs though so I get about a dab worth in every dose. Try it out I think you'd like it as it just kind of complements the morning toke. :)
Otherwise if you buy the edibles from a dispo they are so inconsistent.
And if I may make a recommendation, if you want to infuse literally anything and everything, make BHO or some other type of concentrate and add it to a coconut butter 1:4 ratio so it's potent. That way when you add it to something you won't taste anything and it will go well with just about anything.
I have tried the BHO method but it smells a little off, so for now i have been using butter, but that really limits my canna-cooking.
here people like spice, so m trying to infuse a spice chocolate bar for now, with some coconut butter.
Thanks for all the pointers, will keep them in mind, next time i shall do the BHO & coconut butter instead.
Nice connecting with you here... Appreciate all the upvotes & comments...
For sure, glad I could help out :)
It all depends. Strong edibles for movie nights, smoking for every night .
I like your style!
