There are all sorts of new color popping up everywhere. The grass has been allowed to grow wild and free while the flowers put out their blooms. Eventually, they will manicure it to a more tame look. I kind of like it a little on the wild side. But, that is just me. The difference between the State Park looks and the Estate look. Which do you prefer?

What does your view look like?
Every time I go to check my mail, she eyeballs me with those beady little swallow eyes. I try not to stare or meet her eyes. Hey! I ain't afraid of no bird!!! Maybe.
So the joy may touch your soul

Oh my goodness, a swallow made a nest in your mailbox? She doesn't mind your mail each day, lol Oh my goodness!! We recently had a couple of birds build a nest in the palm just outside our front door and just going out the door was dangerous! They would swoop down, it was scary. Luckily they weren't around too long, I kept telling them we were safe, not to worry :) I just love springtime, all of the fresh green and new life. We are indeed blessed aren't we? Enjoy your day! Hope you have loads of sunshine!!!
Do you know what is so funny? I just had a family of doves that we're living in a Flower Basket on my porch. They had their flock of 3 and they just finished fledging, it seems like they were hatched and out in no time. Not one week later, the swallow came back, because it was there last year also and the year before that, so I think it is a family but that keeps inheriting the house. Anyway, it is actually the newspaper box underneath the actual mailbox come up but still every time I go and get my mail I get chastised by mother swallow.
I couldn't agree with you more, spring is an absolutely amazing time of the year and as always I hope you have a most wonderful day. Sunshine always, if only in my heart.

I thank you so much for your always kind and generous words.
Thank God the letter box is closed so she couldn't make her nest there but she did take over the newspaper part of it for the better part of three years now. I really don't mind and it's kind of funny when I go to get the mail oh, she just sits there and looks at me and after I leave she flies away. Anyway, the eggs are laid and I expect any day now for little swallows to be popping out. The Dove family that build their nest in one of my flower baskets on the porch didn't take any time to grow up and fledge. I don't think they even have their license yet. L o l

Ohh yes it was such a lovely day I did sneak in a walk after lunch, and so wanted to play hookey and not go back I must admit, but I did the adult thing and went back to work
Perhaps I didn't explain it very well, but yes, it is in the newspaper part. We just dashed off the doves that were in a flower basket on the porch.
They took no time in hatching, growing and fledging. Wow!
Oh, yes, it was absolutely perfect out! Hookey sounds better and better to me every day! Sigh...
But, yes. As long as I am on the payroll. I gotta keep going!
Yeah we gotta do what we got to do it’s going to be another one of those days I want to play hookey but no early meetings so I will go fir a walk somewhere in the city at this stage I have no idea where.

I am partial to the likes of St. Patrick's Cathedral, which will be open for the lunchtime walk. The view of it in its entirety is spectacular. Well, you know that.
The other place that might be different is going down to the Chelsea neighborhood, which actually runs from maybe 15th to 43rd street, more or less... but the Historic District (20th to 22nd St. between 8th and 10th Ave)has architecture from the 1800s. Chelsea was NYC first theater district, did you know that. There are remnants of it. The Chelsea Hotel used to be a writers haven and I guess you could call it a landmark and I haven't been there in a while, but love the Pier down there. You can grab the subway and head to the Hudson Yards. (Never thought I would send you to the Meatpacking District, eh?
I am a huge fan of their architecture so you would find me wandering, head looking up into the clouds.
I do plan on going back to St Patricks, but at Midday it can be so crowded and you know i hare crowds, plus I did not bring in my wider lens today so will save that for another day when it’s cloudy and not so nice
I d love the Chelsea area and have not been there for a while another area i must revisit, The Chelsea Hotel was all surrounded din with scaffolding and such last timeI saw it it would be good to see how it was then
Most Likely I will just do a walk around Midtown, I want to stick to the one hour max for lunch and a walk, so I can get out early LOL

What absolutely beautiful views, just love it! One can almost smell the plants by looking at your photos, we do live in an amazing world! Wednesday walk certainly is making us really see and appreciate what's around us not so!
We have a swallow's nest at our front door entrance. They built it out of mud many many years ago and return every spring, renovating it from time to time as one can see the newer layers. We know they're back when we see the dander on the floor, then hear the chicks chirping later on, quite amazing that they come back to the same spot, must be the new generations coming back to the family home;)

I love swallows! Just so graceful when flying. Our swallow family didnt return to their nest so a house finch family moved in. They have babies peeping up there!
Well I am in the same boat as you! I can wander around for ages just shooting the most mundane things! Nature is so amazing. I try to not spam to many silly shots because I get a kick out of how things look, especially close up.
Here is my view today:
Now That's What I Call a view! I hope you take a picture of that just so you don't forget what it looks like when you are comparing apples and oranges down there in Virginia. I might as well call that West Virginia actually. It's so far west that you almost share the Border. But it's Virginia on a technicality.
You got me on that! I do have a habit of taking pictures of the most mundane pieces of landscape every single day. It might be a flower or a piece of a tree or a blade of grass. Bad habit, for sure!I know you understand that. There is so much out there that Is still calling out my name, begging me to photograph it!
Do you hear them calling my name?
I thought it was funny that a finch moved into the swallow's nest, do they usually do that? Some birds won't reuse another's nest or perhaps I am just naive. You try not to spam too many pictures? Nooo. Say it isn't so!

Thank you so much @sallybeth, my lovely, lovely friend! How can anybody go wrong with spring? Everything is super colorful and Super Fresh and just beautiful. That is the third set of birds that have lived in my mailbox. I'm pretty sure they're all from the same family, but it always makes me laugh when I cry out to the mailbox and I get a set of eyes looking at me.
The dove family that lived in a Flower Basket on my porch have their family and they fledged before I could blink an eye. Nothing is more invigorating and replenishing than kicking your shoes off and feeling the earth beneath your feet and even more so after rain - there is something very special about it.
It really looks like you are surrounded by an enormous amount of beauty - a rare blessing in today's world.
Oh you are absolutely right! There is nothing quite like it! I have been digging in dirt after work today and now I feel like my day has been made. The biggest thrill my kids love to this day is walking in the rain. We would put on our Slickers and rain boots and then we would Dash through the puddles, and all the while I could hear the sound of laughter behind me.
Mother Nature has never disappointed me.

You have so close to your place such a paradise for walk! The pond is always my favorite ... like your blogs.
I do have a beautiful place in which to take my walks. There is a park that is attached to the end of the neighborhood which is acres and Acres of wild land, the walkways making it easier 2 get around.
Right now is the perfect time of year where everything is green and beautiful and blooming. Where there once was brown is now full of color and beauty. If I could live in this state forever. If only. The pond he's right outside my window so there is an easy access to it. It has fish in it and so people do fish there. I think once upon a time it was a stocked pond because this was once a farm and I believe the farmers stalked it and would feed his family with the fish. Overtime it has multiplied so now they no longer stock it, but there are plenty of fish in it. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your kind words!

I wonder what you mail carrier thinks when he open the mailbox. Then again he might be used to it. The lilies were gorgeous, as was the rest of the post. Your words absolutely uplifting.
He actually laughed! The bird flew in his truck through the door and then back out the window. That was his first introduction. We just finished with the doves that were on our porch, nesting in one of my flower pots. This family of birds is going on the third time of building their nest in my mailbox. To be clear, it is the newspaper part underneath the actual box, however life is disrupted every time I go get the mail. Not so much for me, but I can tell by those beady little eyes looking at me that she is not happy I am checking my mail yet again. LOL

I really enjoyed taking your Wednesday walk with you! Nothing better than to de-stress and take a time out than with a nice walk. So much better mentally than a walk on the treadmill at the Y.
Oh I couldn't agree with you anymore! Although I have a gym at home, the preferred method, even in the winter time is to go out for a brisk walk. Or a hot one depending on the season. There is something so invigorating about getting out there with Mother Nature.
