I just read an article on the Wall Street Journal titled:
It Would Take 228 Years for Black Families to Amass Wealth of White Families, Analysis Say
I just want to say I disagree with this article, yes many facts are true but it has been my observation that many minorities do not support businesses in their own communities. Many people who do better in life and get out of their situations do not give back to the struggling businesses of their old communities. Instead they start shopping at high end shops and buying name brand items. I grew up in a small town and we had one black store owner, he was kind enough to give credit to people who couldn't afford to pay and needed to feed their children. Directly across the highway a store opened, true, his items were cheaper because it was a bigger store and this store ran the small business man, out of business. The same people he gave credit to chose to shop cheaper, many never repaying their debt. I feel that if communities would support their own, you can strengthen your own and build a stronger financial powerhouse. Recently we saw black rappers and black stars giving support to black owned banks but I feel more can be done by all Americans to support our minority businesses. Citizens Trust Bank is minority owned and you may want to look into banking with them. That being said there are so many more businesses out there google can give you info on businesses in your area. It should not take 228 years for African American, Native, Hispanic or any other race to obtain wealth in America.
so what about the fact that there are more white people in the same poverty bracket? O.o also by the year 2030 more then half the populaon under 18 will be of color and by 2048 white people will be drasticly the minority. so how is it going to take 228 years? O.o
Like I said I do not agree, and yes in fact white people are the minority if you look at the numbers game. Yes if you get aid from the government white people and black people are almost equal. The amount of rich people is far less than shown in the media.

I'm following you now.
I find it insane that this type of crap is in media as well known as Wall Street Journal.
