I minted my first wax NFT // ENERGIZER

Wax is a weird blockchain.

It's got a ton of great collectables, including names I recognize from mainstream culture -- stuff like Atari, Capcom, even deadmau5. Furthermore, my first ever founder's token for a game is on Wax, after I decided to buy one for Millions on Mars: Land Rush.

On the other hand -- the UI on Wax platforms has always been a bit confusing to me, making it hard to browse around. Maybe it's me.

Furthermore, I just hadn't connected with a community of artists. Something about "collectables" didn't resonate with me as much as "art," even though they are often the same thing. The culture on Wax challenged me, forced me to learn some new things.

Art is all about exploring

I am an artist.

What do artists do, if not challenge themselves and explore new ideas? Am I to remain in the safest place, a small bubble of fellow artists, and never venture further?

Of course I want to mint many more pieces on NFT Showroom. I'm very very happy with my current gallery over there, and happy too about my collection of other artists' work. I just don't think one platform is enough to satisfy any artist who seeks to be audacious and experimental in their process.

Thus, after some encouragement from my friend Mitch at Yield Squad, I decided I would do my next mint on Wax.

Now Introducing: ENERGIZER

At least, idk, I don't want to make a big deal of it but I already sold 3 of them XD

I wasn't expecting that, it's only been an hour since I announced this thing!

My first ventures into Wax are going well... looks like this isn't the last time I mint there.

Don't get stuck in one place

imo being a maximalist is meh, I think there is a TON of value in exploring multiple platforms and making friends all around the blockchain space. This Wax experience has been above and beyond what I expected so far, so I'm excited to double down and mint more.

I'm also excited to check out even more platforms now :-P but that won't be for a while -- before then, I have more mints planned for NFT Showroom on Hive, and more stuff in the works for Wax.

I find myself enjoying a roughly one-NFT-per-week schedule... good pace to push myself to keep creating, but have some time to contemplate and get inspired. Keep an eye out next Tuesday for something new.
