Hmmm Wouldn't it be wiser to just start from scratch and build something that is meant for only mobile? Just my guess but I am all with you on the waves it's much better... at the moment.
A few times I ask if they were thinking to build an app but most of the time the answer was mobile site, the desktop version works ok
