The question is why they do that. 🤯

I have read articles about "fully open-source" hardware and software where every step of the production of the smartphone can be verified, though those phones aren't powerful enough for their price (since what is mostly paid for is the security of those devices). 🤓

They do it to give govenements access to people's devices, which is of course deeply unethical, but most big tech is like that unfortunately. Yes, I'd far prefer fully open-source hardware, but as you said, it tends to be less powerful. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It's not only the hardware of those "fully open-source" devices that are quite less powerful, but the cosmetics (such as the color and edges) can also benefit from a lot of improvement. 🤔🤯🤓

Some of the open-source hardware designed for Linux can be pretty solid, but there's certainly a lot of room for improvement for most! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Fully open-source hardware for desktop (and also laptop) computers tend to be more powerful at the same cost than those for smartphones. 🤔🤓

The specs of the open-source phone is one thing, but its cost is something you should also be prepared for. 🤔💸🤯😅

Anyway, I am also waiting for the HOP bot to fulfill my !HOPE tipping commands, where the last one fulfilled was 9 hours ago. 🤯 Hope that @borniet fixes this issue quickly! 🤗

Yep, true. Actual good hardware often does cost quite a lot.

That sort of thing still happens, but most times when I mention it to @borniet, he says that the bots are actually still running fine on the backend, but not so much on the frontend. There seems to be an issue with them skipping blocks for some reason. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
