Renewables cost is going down thankfully as more is built, but we need to do something about the mining for metals for all the batteries. They have child labor and poverty wages and no safety and maybe even slave labor in some places. I read something about how crypto can be good for movements like organic and fair trade because you can literally track where all the resources come from on the blockchain, so maybe someone could build a blockchain tracking system to keep companies honest that they are treating miners well and fairly. Because some companies now are like "yes we signed up for this certification" but really no one inspects or if they do they announce it first so they know to send the child laborers away or something, and it isn't any better.
There was a book written years ago that I read that thought that gas would keep increasing in price until it was $20/gallon US (3.79 liters). It was written before the big boom in fracking I think. Anyway the whole book was, what would happen, how fast would people change to alternatives or fund alternative research, etc. I thought it was an interesting take, because it rested on the idea that corporations won't change unless they are forced to, and people will freak out and demand change when the price is too high.
The name of this book? I'd actually love to read it... I personally think we'd turn to barbarism since very few people actually have basic survival skills...and I'm not talking about building a fire...what I mean is farming, working leather, building stuff...
And yeah, you make sense.
This is why I am not (not that I have the money to anyway) the type that "prepping" means "filling a basement with dried and canned goods and guns," it's "learn to do things from scratch for myself and make friends who can do other stuff," because really if society falls apart, that's how you'll survive. Not by hiding in a bunker (which corona showed most people wouldn't do anyway, as after just a short quarantine we had protests of people demanding restaurants and haircuts, lol).
We have endless #solar and #wind. We just need to down cost of #renewable.

Yes, you are right, I am absolutely against child labor. Companies want to cut costs to make a profit. The way to prevent this is to raise awareness.
Good morning dear
Well no more fire, so no more lots of other things including life😂❤️💯... Maybe we could make electricity a substitute 🤔
💯

I hope this makes sense somehow 🤣🫠
