For sure. I know in the US market it's because there is a loophole in mileage requirements for "light trucks," and anything with a big enough chassis qualifies. So they started pushing SUVs and useless pickups (they are too high and the bed is somehow too small so that tradies hate them) instead of regular cars because of course auto manufacturers are in bed with oil companies.

Oil and motors have a lot of influence, but we need to break this addiction. Having been to the US I know it's worse than Europe with so many big trucks.
