With this post we continue our quest to do a little research and brainstorm on possible use-cases of blockchain technology for street dance and art community.
In our previous post we discussed the possible usage of po.et platform for copyright related topics.

Today we briefly look at Waves Platform. The platform enables to create custom tokens with specific properties as the motto states within a minute. This makes it number one advantage when we talk about the possible use-cases for street dance and art communities as people there are mostly excited about tech which is fast and easy to apply and understand.
To create a token you are required to pay a fee of one Wave which is at today's rate around 3.70 $. The very advantage of the platform is that users are able to send their newly created tokens directly to any Waves addresses and these will appear there automatically (in comparison for Ethereum based tokens which you need to manually add providing a smart contract address in Metamask for example).
Here is a list of possible use-cases of such tokens inside Hip Hop and Street Culture communities:
Token based loyalty programs. Dance schools, street artists, championships e.t.c may award their participants or customers with tokens which they may further on use to get privileges or discounts in partner organizations: again dance schools admissions, street artists' goods, championships' entrance fees. If such program grows big enough it may claim to have a particular market segment reach - active youth of urban areas. Local entrepreneurs (coffee or ice-cream shops, street fashion brands) may later on also get interested in cooperation with such programs to share client base and promote particular products by providing discounts.
Tickets for performances. Simple as that. By paying in fiat online customers receive tickets in form of tokens, which they show from Waves app of their phones at the door. Required actions to get such a token ticket are not more complicated then to print out any online purchased ticket. Tokens which are then left on balances may be later on used for some other related to performance endeavor.
Voting rights. Custom tokens may then be understood as votes which can be fairly distributed among street dance community members and then used to vote for proposals. Each proposal is then assigned a unique Waves platform address. A proposal wins by receiving the majority of issued tokens.
Rating systems. People who win at championships or more importantly who commit some community valuable actions such as posting in social media, teaching charity classes e.t.c. get tokens. The predictable problem here would be allocating tokens to real people instead of addresses inside the platform.
Creation of tiny ICOs for funding creative social projects. In this sense such an ICO can be described as crowdfunding of an endeavor rather than token with future value distribution.
The mentioned above ideas may also be combined with one another and applied in more or less complicated way. For example: members of such loyalty programs may not be required to actually send tokens, which is an additional action, they may just collect them and show the balance upon request.

Breakin' Revolution - Decentralized Theater Piece - News.
The premiere last week in Stockholm's Färgfabriken successfully happened! We will be glad to share more detailed story as well as videos and photos in our next posts. Currently the project is aiming at finding location to show the premiere in the motherland of the Great October Revolution - Russia.
Breakin' Revolution theater piece was sponsored and supported by 100 Years of Russian Revolution Conference of Södertörn University, Swedish Institute and Nordkonst NGO.
As believers of liberating potential of modern decentralized technology we are excited about finding possible partners in the sphere of crypto-currency and blockchain. We will be interested in creating a possible use-case for any blockchain technology within our theater performance's future development.
