I believe that when you post anything to the blockchain it is there for eternity. It can't be deleted.

Yes, but the blockchain only accept text. Images and videos are storage on privates servers. Can be deleted.
In fact Dapps deleted non-ethical images or videos (porn, child porn, violent videos, etc.) at discretion.
