It is not harmful; over here, we eat them, and it's nutritional. I heard some from other countries said is harmful I don't know why.
Here you always We have been told that they are harmful, I have not really investigated this, the truth is That they reproduce in OS dumps and garbage sites must be why they are said here to be toxic What part of the world are you writing from and where does that snail reproduce, if you have documented information? Send me to know more about that species
That is true, I'm writing from Nigeria. Posting that picture and all these comments has made me to think more about the safetiness of eating snails, and a little research online shows snail is capable of carrying pathogens that can causes diseases when eating by human. Thought I still find this hard to believe since I have been eating African land snails since I was little.
I think more public awareness about the harm it can cause is needed in my country.
