Do you know that in the village areas, dried cow dung 💩 is used as a fuel to cook food? There are a few versions of this fuel. Here is the "stick" version 😀. We often call it "Kabab"! 😁

I did not know this!

It is still widely used in those village houses that have at least one cow to produce cow dung. Most of the houses still have cows. Hence, if you walk through the village, you will find these on either side.

At my village home, now we use wood. But, around 20-25 years back, we also used these.

Thanks for stopping by.

So, all of these belong to someone? Or can they be purchased if you don't have your own cow?

Each picture content belongs to each one. Maybe, they have more, at other side of their home. They keep these in this way to dry them up under the sun.

I haven't seen anyone selling these. Those who have larger farm with many cows, other people can take the raw cow dung from the farm and make the sticks themselves at their own house.

However, they often send them as a gift to others. For example, parents send these to their girl house if the girl's new family (after marriage) is too poor to manage the fuel!!

Or, a comparatively richer family simply offes the poorer to take the raw cow dung every morning to make their own sticks.

I love seeing and learning about these traditions. Thank you for explaining this.
We have become so removed from even knowing about this way of life

That's interesting.

I didn't know about this.

Who could have thought that something that is seen as a waste will be of so much importance.

I only know of manure being it's use.

Maybe, it's a century-old method I think. Who knows who invented it!!

Thank you for your comment.
