Cats don't poop out of hate or spite, lol. They are maybe marking territory, or they feel safer pooping there than anywhere else.
You can clean the area with hydrogen peroxide to get rid of scent, and try putting down citrus spray, they don't like the smell of citrus. ๐ค
Yeah, marking territory indeed and I hate it when they do it by pooping. ๐ All because I fed other stray cats once, after a looong time. Oh well.
If it makes you feel any better, years ago an outside cat peed on my stoop, and so in response Maggie started peeing on the front door. It took months to break her of that habit, & throwing out my doormat. I was losing my mind. lol
How'd you break it?
I was always cleaning it and trying to block it off, but in the end I had to put puppy pee pads in the spot and slooooowly move them away from the door.
Ah I see... Sad I don't have any pee pads. Oh well... Not gonna be feeding any of them anymore, again.
