RE: Ecency waves Aug 21

I went back out now (~30 minutes later). There were 15-20 Fish Crows and 4 American Crows all partaking in the nut fest I laid out. I wandered into the middle of the party with a hard boiled egg…some of them took off, but about half of each stayed aloof and watched as I laid the egg among the mixed nuts.

I am determined, and WILL be friends with these guys - I just have to show them I can be trusted and that all I want is to be a part of the murder.

@corvidae @melinda010100 thank you both for your advice along the way, I believe I’m seeing the beginnings of my feathered family and it is SO cool to see how diligently they run security - it will make it that much more meaningful when they open their hearts to me!

Awww Fish Crows! I want to meet some one of these days. I have a cousin in Florida so it's possible it could be sooner than later.

You WILL be in crow club one day! And just remember the advice I always give my dog when he's trying to befriend some new creature: staring is scaring. 😄

Hahaha!!! Then we definitely care about each other!

The fish crows are fun little guys…they sound more like frogs than crows 🤣
I left a trail of peanuts from their tree to my work parking lot for a few days in a row…now they are there every day. From my distant perspective, they seem to have less capacity for deeper friendship, but they’re smart and cute. I get about 15 of them each morning and 3-5 American crows, consistently at this point. They’re a cool bunch! Still not on “getting close to each other” kind of terms, but I see it in our future!
