It is just water

I live in the Florida Keys, and it seems so beautiful to the eyes or so it seems. The pollution of plastic, paper trash , and the killing of the water from Lake Okeechobee is taking its toll20150404_162130.jpg. I know several captains here who charter and some have done it for their livelihood all their life. It is not the same . With the algae blooms being promoted by the nutrients, which means animal and human waste fertilizers is slowing taking and exponentially taking its toll. The captains tell me the fishing is not the same , less fish, further out and sometimes new species are being seen . Before living in the Keys, I lived in Melbourne , Fl, and moved due to the pollution killing all the fish in the Indian River Lagoon. Water flows south . Florida Bay is the receiver of the pollution being created up state and flows south. So , now after the gulf of Mexico oil platform catastrophe, the divers tell me it is different. The visibility is less due to whatever is going in the water from nutrients and breakdown of plastics. I do not want to be doom and gloom but we need to take a look at what we are doing to ourselves . This usually comes from industry , raping the environment , or being careless of it s management . Jacqui Thurlow writes a blog each day on this and is fighting the Capital , Tallahassee to do something . Money is appropriated but it does not find its way to doing its purpose. Florida is turning into a cesspool, literally. When high tides come to Miami, the sewage backs up flows into the flood waters from the rising tides.
The National Geographic put a movie on Netflix, Water and Power, a California Heist. It shows the other growing monster which is the taking of water for normal human beings and allowing it to be sold to commercial farming. The people who are working on the farms, they have to buy water while the farms have plenty for the crops. Some communities have no running water or is contaminated with chlorine. This is the crisis approaching the U.S. and is already being seen in other parts of the world.
In the country of Panama , the Canal is the engine of the country. I lived there for several years. The canal gets priority for the water from the Chargres River, and when it is low, the government cuts the water and power to the outlying poor areas. I have family in those areas. Wow,
So , to cap it off , last nite , during the Super Bowl , Budweiser advertised its water . So, as you can see ground water is being sucked up , and sold so we have to buy water when it should come to us from our communities , not big corps. This is an ongoing issue and will ultimately determine the health of our planet.
