Water: Tiamat, well of the watery abyss
The full name of this Goddess sounds like Heva Leviathan Tiamat. It speaks in more detail about the nature of this deity. The name Heva is associated with Eve, the first woman, and Leviathan is the great serpent, a primitive and very ancient symbol of the primordial world of chaos. Tiamat is the ancient Sumerian-Babylonian goddess of the primordial ocean.
In the Magical tradition, this is the goddess of the west and the primary power of the element of Water. She may manifest as a beautiful blue-green-skinned mermaid, as a giant octopus, or as a sea monster. Often, its tentacles sway on the water like a mermaid's hair, whose rhythmic wave-like movements plunge the gazer even deeper into a trance.
It represents the chaos that precedes creation, containing the fullest potential of possibilities. It is also the Mother Womb of the World, a title that reflects her original creative nature. This is the Great Mother, since all life came out of the sea. Her power is chaotic, resourceful, brutal, adaptive, dangerous, and powerful. Call upon her when you feel the need to tap into your own creative powers, plunging into the depths of the unknown or working with astral projection and dreams.
