i dont know how many of you are aware about the situation in southeast mediterranean right now but i will try to give you an idea.
i suppose you all know the situation in syria the last years.
whats new on this part of the world conflict is turkey.
turkey is at war right now with the kurds of north syria inside the syrian borders bombing the kurds there.
and they really having a bad time as news are speaking of more thank 1000 turkish soldiers dead so far and 66 tanks destroyed by the kurds when the turkish goverment promoted before the attack that it was a matter of 7 days tops to take the city of afrin and destroy the kurds.
thats clearly something that doenst happen and if you have in mind that the syrian army enforced the kurds some days ago against the turks you understand that the situation is turning really bad for the turks.
american forces are in the area of afrin right now too so you understand how easily an "accident" can happen in the area between turks and americans.
but thats not the only problem turks causing in this area of the world.
the turkish navy is perfoming naval training at the south of the island of cyprus exactly where an italian company would start to dig for oil inside cyprus territory and economic zone threaten the italian company not to start any work there cause if they do the turks will sink the italian ship.as a result the italian company left the area.
notice thats very close to that area that the turks are having this navtex (training) are the borders of israel's and egypt's territorial sea countries that also have interest in the area because studies showed a vast ammount of oil in all this part of southeast mediterranean sea and they have set up already their territories of interested between them (israel greece egypt cyrpus)
some days ago a turkish war ship hit a greek coast guard ship inside greece's territorial sea.
greece in respond said that if this happens once more the answer will be hard .
very soon in the area exxon mobil is coming to this area to start digging for oil.
to my view i dont think usa will allow turks to do what they done to the italian company and usa's respond to that turkish behavior will be totally different than the italians who just left.
this might lead to various problems.
the turks are excluded from this oil rich area (they have no right there under any international law) are behaving like pirates and they seem to be really determined to start even a war with greece just to stop any oil activity in the area until to find anything that could give them a share on this oil.
the way turks behave in the area is a threat to greece cyprus israel and egypt too.
egypt had announced naval trainning in this area too and i believe israel and greece will do the same too.
so you understand its like a bomb ready to explode there any time.
now noone wants that but just think if something starts there by the stupid actions of turkey how easily this will start world war two knowing that usa and russian army is at syria and so navy of the two countries.
this is not an unreal fantasy scenario its already happening in the area.
and its all because of the turkish dictatorship who dreaming about to rebuild the othoman empire by prisoning its own people who are opposed to this regime or leaving turkey by thousands and acting like pirates to all this area.
already european news are talking about a very possible military conflict between greece and turkey.
but thats not between greece and turkey.
its between east and west.
its not the first time in history this east -west war happend.
only this time if it happens it will be the last for sure...
