Please stop posting comments at the wallet wall - I won't vote for any of these comments...

…so please stop this

stop posting spam

The past days i was noticing more and more people who are using the wallet history wall for promoting their own content. Usually this is not a bad idea, but ...

If people are using it to promote their own content , then really urgent cases are getting missed in the ocean of spam comments. If you want to promote your articles, you have other opportunities.

steemit.chat

For example, just register at steemit.chat and then join #postpromotion-modertated

If u'll give it try - pls avoid to use command on chat like @all if u don't want to get muted directly, as this function is alarming everyone in this channel no matter what time is is ... so as a recommendation:

DON'T USE @all

IMO Valuable user comment additions i'm going to add here

@kaylinart

- Other social media sites: Facebook, Twitter, Quora, Instagram.
- Youtube
- "Ping" it on google
- Send your article to your email list.
- Focus on leaving high quality comments and help promote others content, You'll gain more followers and you could get * the exposure you want.

Thanks for your contribution, complete comment here

SO if u want to get recognized and not getting muted, please consider to stop this comment-spam or just not start with :)

I love this! I got one of those messages recently and it was annoying. There are other ways to promote content, Like...

  • The Steemit.chat Like you said
  • Other social media sites: Facebook, Twitter, Quora, Instagram.
  • Youtube
  • "Ping" it on google
  • Send your article to your email list.
  • Focus on leaving high quality comments and help promote others content, You'll gain more followers and you could get the exposure you want.

hey thanks for your great additions - i've added them to my article with credits .. hope this is in your interst - if not just gimme a hint .. and i will remove it again

Thank you ! You can keep that It's fine :)

I have heard about this "evil" @all thing. I have been so tempted to use it. What exactly does it do because the curiosity is starting to kill me?

Propose to feature on other authors' blog. There are at least three popular ones who let others to feature: @jacor, @dragonslayer109 and @gavvet. Great guys. :)

thanks for the comment and mentioning us. Hope no spamming comes from this ; )... nice to see people notice it :D but I had never thought of some of the points you had mentioned

there are a few other ways as well :D

Thanks for bringing this out, begging for votes and followers is just pathetic.
If you want people to find and read your content you need to promote it but do it the right way. Publishing Steemit on other social medias is a great way to bring in more users and followers, i was brought here by a tweet and i fell in love with the concept. I have been reading almost non stop for the past few days, there is so much amazing content here and so many amazing people with creative minds.

Very positive attitude. More people like you will help steemit to grow .

@summon, there's an extra e in the steeemit.chat reference above...
Might get people to the wrong place :) (not a valid domain yet but still :) )

thx for reporting ! fixed

i got a comment yesterday at the wallet wall to upvote someones post , the funny thing that i have just a 1000 sp but it makes me feel like a whale .lol

I have seen one of those so far. A bit annoying, since it is spam, but at least they are paying me for spamming me. I could see it getting extremely irritating if it happens too often.

It's not just that an unsolicited message should pay, we should be able to set our price for such a message. If I could set a price, I'd have no problem with advertisers willing to compensate me for my attention.

Maybe have a bidding market of some sort?

Thanks, this is what I was trying to figure out; whether or not people were receiving SD to have these messages posted.

Totally agree!
One major new Steemit feature that will be coming in is integrated private messaging for the users. If this does not have some type of limitation (like Twitter's: if I'm not following you, you can't message me sort of thing), it will be just a spamfest.

#payitforward is a good way to promote too. Specifically you are promising others you will check their stuff out if they check yours out. It might not be the content you are normally into. But you are being invited specifically to promote your blog in theirs. Check my blog on it for more details.

Thank you for the advice. I didn't know you could post in the wallet section not that I have any plans to do so.

Yes when you transfer steem dollars to people, You can leave small messages. There are people using it to promote themselves.

I agree stop to spam, the spam trash :D

Yesterday I saw that! I was with a friend and when he looked at his history and then $ 0.001 with a message that basically said: "up-Voted me and follow me and if you want you can exchange links"
When you think about it, with 27000 active users, it would cost only $27 for circulating your message to everyone.

I think we all get those on our wallet wall :D quite annoying

Promoting a content is not a problem at all as long the reader will like what the person is posting but if not, that's the time you start to worry and better luck next time.

I spammed a few whales to 'advertise' a post to see if it worked. It didn't and I was disappointed. Then people started spamming me to advertise their posts. Now they are disappointed too.

How you do a comment-spam? I hope I didn't do it now.

The promotion in the chat, needs to be upgrdaed as it has like 1 quadrillion messages per minute...

One of the above comments has made a right statement. There are other ways like ding and so on.

Maybe it would be a good idea, to make an introduction manual.
What I mean by this is, to gather all the main inoframtion about how to promote a post, and how steem works.
This manual would be avaliable on registration, somewhere on the users page (like a simple help - but more interactive)

This would solve 3 promblems.
1 - It would stop the enormous amount of posts about "how to transfer money from steem" "how to upvote" "how to drink coffee while on steem" and so on
2 - It would help to stop with the spam you are talking about
3 - Promote original content

you're right. This will help steemit to be really usefull and add value. I think we are at the beginning. So many people trying to find the way. It will clarify with few months. Now we have gold rush or rather steemit rush :)

Thanks! My words mate.
And stop promotng your post on the comments like this:
https://steemit.com/story/@timsaid/steem-survivors-fictional-series-episode-2

Well in this case it's okay. Read my Story :D

Wow! You actually upvoted my Story. Thank you so much. I thought someone is going to downvote me for this Little joke here. You made my day :)

i've not upvoted due the comment here .. just said ;)

Then I feel honored. Thank you much. Now I will even harder try to make Episode III better

we all learning here.

Where is the wallet wall and how can I post comments to it? 🔍 🔍 🔍

😉

I am interested about it too, I havent used the chat before, how it works?

Oh please @summon and @anonymous don't you have bigger downvote fish to fry than a semi-bad sarcastic remark. If you look at it in context it was kinda funny? And the ;) indicated I wasn't serious.

I do hope you aren't trying to make steemit.com a no fun zone, or are you?
