🦃 Several pounds of seasoned turkey pieces
🫒 3 teaspoons oil
💧 1 cup water, with more as needed
🧂 Salt
🌿 20-30 fresh okra pods
🥕 1-2 medium carrots sliced into rounds
🌶️ 1 whole red bell pepper sliced into strips
🌱 1-2 bunches of fresh watercress
🧃 1 cube Maggi seasoning
🌶️ 1 whole habanero pepper
🍅 1-2 tablespoons tomato paste
💐 5-7 whole cloves
🌿 Thyme and parsley
Instructions
1- Prepare the Turkey:
- Place pre-seasoned turkey pieces into a large pot.
- Add approximately 3 teaspoons of oil and 1 cup of water.
- Cover and let the turkey boil for about 15 minutes. After boiling, remove some of the broth and set aside.
2- Brown the Turkey:
- Fry the turkey in the remaining liquid, adding small amounts of water gradually until browned.
- Flip the turkey pieces for even cooking.
3- Prepare the Vegetables:
- While the turkey is cooking, wash and clean the okra, slicing them slightly lengthwise.
- Slice the carrots and bell pepper, and rinse the watercress.
4- Combine and Simmer:
- Once the turkey is browned, add the trimmed okra, sliced carrots, bell pepper, and watercress to the pot.
- Add additional water, crumble the Maggi cube, and add the whole habanero, tomato paste, and cloves.
- Cover and let it boil for about 30-35 minutes.
5- Final Touches:
- Keep the pot covered to retain moisture, occasionally shaking the pot gently to mix ingredients without stirring.
- Season with salt to taste before serving.
