Hello everyone, this is yet another post of the latest additions I've got to present which have been added to my collection and always look forward to show as well as attach the music videos to play along while reading in case you choose so. Right now only a part of the pieces I've bought have arrived while the others are on pre-order status plus another one that has been delayed for over a year now.
Anyhow it is what it is, I'll just present the handful being available and hopefully in November the next post will be coming. I shall start from Savatage and two of their albums, fist being Gutter Ballet and further below Handful Of Rain. Their entire discography has been re-released on vinyl since there has been demand from music collectors and fans of this band and have long been disappeared since when they were initially released and some re-releases in the meantime are highly priced. Savatage are indeed an iconic band and truth being told, anybody involved with metal music must have old favourites in the record collection, especially if this music is sourced back in the sensitive teenage years.
In this album Criss Oliva being the lead guitarist and co-founder of the band along with his brother Jon is alive and kicking before a few years after got hit head-on by a drunk driver and killed instantly. I got in touch with this album when I asked a friend of mine to record it for me on cassette and I happily own it now on vinyl.
The next album is truly my most precious from them since it was the first and only I bought back in the day. As it writes on the front sticker it's the transparent blue limited collector's edition.
This is the first album since the death of the band's founding member and lead guitarist Criss Oliva who in turn had contributed to writing on two of its songs before his passing, namely "Taunting Cobras" and "Nothing's Going On".
Jon chose to continue the band, although he has since admitted that the band was pretty much over after Criss's death, but only kept going because of his memory and to "keep his music alive".
Next album to present on vinyl from Sear Bliss and their first full length album in their discography Phantoms. This album was originally released in 1996 and got in touch with it around the time me and a friend of mine talked about going to see them live in 2019. He also had a copy of the album copied on a CD-R and having it also as an original item gave the copy to me to listen to it. We also joined their live appearance which left me with very good impressions, listened too to the album and from that time I started tracking an original item to buy. I wanted to buy it new if possible and then saw that a label would re-release it again, they already had a few years back, so I took the chance and happily added to my collection. They're also incorporating a trombone in their compositions which fits so well.
Moving on, two bands with their latest albums on cassette, fist being Ukraine's White Ward and their album False Light.
I got in touch with this band from their previous release, they're marrying a black metal approach along with the use of saxophone and dark jazz. This album's video description provides detailed information about the musical style and concept of the album. Worth mentioning that the release went on while the russian attack was still in place in their country, which goes to show that life is still going on even with so much ugliness happening.
Last album presented from England's Enchantment and their album Cold Soul Embrace. I din't know of this band, I had read somewhere about them and got interested, the death/doom musical direction drew me in. This is their only second album in 30 years!
“This second album cannot be appreciated without taking into account that almost all the material was composed between 94 and 95, so the focus should be on how, after almost 30 years, a feeling can be revived. And it is a feeling that is more alive than ever and they give it to us in this embrace of a cold soul.”
I should say that when I listened to it the first couple of times I was ready to pass on it, but now I can safely say that it has gone straight to my favourites. They're offering a classic now english made cold atmosphere that I'm completely fond of.
Well that's it for now, thank you for visiting and I wish you all a happy Fall!
I have listened to Sear Bliss, but the others are new to me, I'll take a listen.
I used to listen to some metal songs but slowly drifted away I don't know why. These are, however, the best songs one can listen to. These gave me power
Yes the music is always there for me too, that's why I love it so much.
Sounds good.
Where are you from?😁
I've been listening to metal music since 2017 ❤️😁
