WAfrica Updates: Winners Reward, WAfro Party And Whitelist

It has been over five weeks now since the WAfrica community come alive. Thanks to @surfyogi for this visionary gift to the African community and thanks too to all the curators, who have been working selflessly round the clock to position this community at the height of the Steemit ecosystem.

In the five weeks we have experimented with different options and have decided on some updates which will help the community grow and reach out to much more people.

Post Of The Day Reward System

The current reward system was 1SBD to a single winner and three notable mentions. Now we will have 6 winning post everyday which will receive an upvote from the @WAfrica.curators account at different voting percentage ranging from 50%-100%. This will give a payout of more than the current 1sbd and will enable us reward more quality content than we presently do.

WAFRO Discord Party

Yesterday, 29 April 2018, we had our first WAFRO discord party hosted on our discord server by @anaman. We will continue to host this Sunday WAFRO party weekly and active participants shall be rewarded with different prizes as determined by the host.

Whitelist

As the community grows, it has become difficult for us to reach out to good content with a good upvote. Therefore, we have created a whitelist to pick out quality contributors. Our team of curators are hard at work everyday sieving through the #WAfrica tag to pick out quality contributors and add to the whitelist. It will take a bit longer to get everyone on the list but in the long term, it is the best option for the growth of the community.
