HOUSE THE NATION

in #wafrica6 years ago

oooooh oooh My God. i am so happy that we have been able to atleast make the first step towards housing the nation.
people have been complaining of how expensive constructing a house is.
well i now have good news for everyone.
The project we have worked on is community friendly, cost friendly and easy to implement. many people have been so curious of how we were going to put up a house without using bricks or blocks in the walls.

it all started with clearing the ground where the project was to be implemented. this was done with in one day.
we then started packing soil in the sacks and compacting it, this was hectic and tiring because this soil had to be compacted to a certain level.

we then started laying the earth bags on top of each other. before we added on another layer on top, we wrapped barbed wire around the already laid course to hold the earth bags tight in one position.

we started getting people who wanted to know about the project at this level of construction, it was so nice to answer people's questions and making them believe that our project can actually work.

within 7days we had reached the wall plate and were ready to do the roofing and fixing the door, the roofing was done within a day and we fixed the door the next morning.

at this point we had to answer a question that everyone had been asking of.,
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PLASTER?
its hard for motor to grip on sacks and be uniform, so this was a point that everyone thought ewe would not exceed.
all we did was to first nail a wire mesh all around the structure. barbed wire and mortar can easily bond so this eased our way of plastering.

for people who did not see the project starting could not really believe that we raised the walls with earth bags (sacks packed with soil).

woooooooow this was the joy we worked for, seeing the project reaching this level was a very big step for us.
we thank all the people who came to us with advise and guidance as the project was being implemented.
i would like to thank my steemit community for enabling us share such ideas, lets keep supporting one another to grow the platform.
