CT News: Pluto is Moving in as the Next Discord of VR!

in #vr7 years ago

As writers and technology professionals we are always using and testing new software and communicating with colleagues online. One of the best programs we have found for online meetings and general communications is a well known program called Discord.

If you haven't tried Discord yet, you should! It is an incredibly diverse program allowing access to countless communities and all you need to plug into any of these communities is an invite link!

We all used to be into games a lot more previously and still bust out the PC once in a while to get a bit of gaming in from time to time. One of the newest fields in the gaming ecosphere which has developers feverishly working to develop the top future titles is the field of VR.

After getting Discord installed we learned that gaming can be more fun as you can use it to stay connected to friends while in and out of games.

We've tried it out and while I’m playing something, even if it’s a single player game, We've had friends message us.

Up until now it seems that VR did not have a current solution for this feature. Well, it didn’t until today. Thanks to the hard work of developers, Pluto, VR is finally getting its own version of a Discord-like social app.

Don't have a clue what we are talking about? Just check out this short vid so you can get 'clued in' we think you'll find it is pretty cool!

So based on this video and my explanation of why Pluto is needed, what are your thoughts? Do you see VR and applications like Pluto as a key to the future? How much do you think this technology will be used and implemented in the next few years?
