Some delusional folk (statists) make the absurd claim that "taxes" are the price "we" pay for civilization. That's ridiculous. Civilization is what humans have managed to create in spite of things like "taxation".
"Taxation" is theft. Always and every time.

As a point of reference, why don't we evaluate societies throughout history which have not taxed their citizens. How successful were they? How well did they progress? How do those societies compare to others at the time which did tax? Real case studies might be enlightening.
