RE: Vocab-ability–170 (path, pat, pass = feeling, suffering) – A More Powerful Vocabulary (earn UpVotes with “Vocab Practice” exercise)

in #vocab-ability6 years ago (edited)

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Patient. adj. I'm patient with my students, because they need help and guidance, not criticism.
  2. Patient. noun. The nurse had so many patients, she was very tired when she completed her 12 hour shift.
  3. Pathetic. The poor little dog looked so pathetic in the animal shelter all tattered and matted fur. The doggie looked better after a bath and some grooming.
  4. Antipathy. There was a great deal of antipathy at her mother's reading of the will because the family loathed one another.
  5. Compassion. Her husband expressed little compassion as he watched his wife give birth. He told her to be quiet, that she was making too much noise.
  6. Sympathy. There were feelings of great sympathy and kindness towards the woman who lost her son in the murder, during the trial.
  7. Antipathy: There's a great deal of antipathy expressed in some people who don't understand those who are different from themselves.
