Well, we've officially entered the wonderful world of dog life!
When we woke up this morning, our dog was still here. That's a good sign. @Mama-pepper and I figured we'd make a quick video to share some of our thoughts so far. We are still optimistic and excited, and Rosemary seems to have a very nice attitude and personality.

DOG life is wunderfull we have two gordon setters BLACK and tan, Our world is Enriched so much
We plan on getting a couple of pitbulls eventually. After we get all moved into the house. Possibly a husky. We don't know yet.

We have no idea... we just prefer to give the "Author of Life" freedom to author if He so desires. We heard that He desires Godly offspring, which starts off my having offspring.
She will grow on you, @papa-pepper! These dogs are great for keeping the vermin away from your animals, even the two legged variety!

Excellent choice papa-pepper! Ranchers around this part of TX have Great Pyrenees because like you said they bond with any of your animals and will fight to the death to protect you OR your animals and especially if you have a pair the coyotes won't come close to your livestock. Wise and practical choice but then what else would we expect! lol

We have 3 Great Pyrenees with our goats. They are very active at night. Sleep all day. Great guardians. Just don't come between them and a goat placenta 😬 Be prepared:)
Haha! Love your poop discussion. I know what you mean though. Clean poop vs dirty poop, or usable vs not usable.
We used to have a Pyrenees/PitBull mix who was a foster/adopt. She was so loving, but her desire to chase was strong. She started taking down our goats, so she went to live with my parents. She is still an awesome dog, just wasn't a fit for the homestead we had at that time. The Anatolian/Pyrenees cross sounds really interesting and far more productive of a mix for a homestead.
We have two large dogs and being that we have bear, cougar and wolf in our area, their main purpose is to protect our snack-size kiddos, but as we expand our homestead again we will certainly look into a livestock guardian dog.
