Hey Guys!
Tonight's Vlog is a super casual discussion about how pushing your comfort zones can really lead to great content creation. I usually have a bit more structure to my vlog's...but I was just really in the mood for a low key discussion - which I am titling "Ramblings from the Couch".
If anything, I hope this chat helps encourage you to do something new, or push yourself to create content that scares you a little bit... because that is honestly where the magic happens.
I'm curious... when you think of creating content that scares you... what does that look like? It is finally sharing your original music... or sharing a story or experience that feels a little vulnerable?
Love you guys and thanks as always for listening.
Have a great night. <3

Totally agree! :) Be brave... that's where all the creativity happens!
Aye, that’s crucial!
Oh Yea add on to my share, I did a very terrible job of singing for one of @karensuestudios contest as well, what did you think of that one? 😂😘
Another part of that stage fright wall, on my own journey don’t mind me over here 👈
You are seriously the definition of this! I love how you are always trying new things and being super creative with your posts!
I totally agree with you about how things that used to feel crazy feel normal now. Making blog posts where I allow myself to really talk and let my mind out onto the page, end up being the most satisfying. They also receive the best response as well.
I definitely need to get back into my vlog comfort zone! I haven't done much lately and it can feel like "such a task" to get back into it. I'm glad there is an event at my house tomorrow, it will be forced upon me to start back up.
Great advice to incoming Steemit creators!
Totally get that feeling of a task feeling too big to even start. Sounds like your event tomorrow will help give you a little push. Would love to see some of your vlogs once you get back into it! 😊
Sometimes the mind tends to be foggy infant, your really don't think you have any courage to do anything but sometimes it's just by being boldness to begin that we need.
Way up, my ukulele queen.
doing art in a public space is another challenge.
Oooh YES! It can be really scary to try being creative when random strangers are passing by.
I’ve chickened out of recording a music or dance video outside many times for the same reasons.
Stepping out of comfort zone is definitely scary especially for asian like me. I am from Singapore and most Singaporeans are not risktaker. I did recently think about uploading a dtube with me singing with a guitar which is the only instrument that I can play. I may give it a try one day when I can find the time to self-video. It will not be very soon. Need to wait til my long school holiday first. Thanks for sharing this that may just encourage people like me to step up to do something different.
Oooh I would LOVE to see a dtube music video of yours! Please let me know whenever you decide to post it, because I would love to stop by to listen and encourage/support you! 😊
.
That makes a lot of sense!! Controversial subjects usually mean you have a lot of people with strong opinions!
Hi @coruscate Thanks so much for posting this Video.
I am new to Steemit / Dtube (and the whole Vlog-ing concept).
So while I have been comfortable in the past posting pictures / videos on Instagram or Facebook the concept of speaking to the camera is still quite uncomfortable to me.
So it really helps to hear you say that we (I) need to break out of my comfort zone and "just-do-it"!
Thanks.
I’m so glad you found this post helpful! You should definitely give vlogging a try! My first few ones were pretty rough... but you definitely get more comfortable as you go!
Thanks so much! I will keep plugging on.
No doubt you create good contents and share good video thanks for sharing on dtube it is the best keep it up I wish you all the best You always come with a great content

Oooh I’m so glad you liked the setting/vibe. I really appreciate that feedback!
Thank you for your motivational and inspiarational vlog mam. It will help to those of us trying to get past the hurdle of getting established🙂Everything is in our hand and we need to be original and come up with the best content🙂
I gotta admit, I was searching motivation posts on Steemit. This was definitely what I needed. Sometimes I feel like I try to "edit" myself too much to please others.
Aww I’m so glad you found this post helpful. I am a “recovering people pleaser”, and so I TOTALLY get where you are coming from.
One thing I have always found to be true in life is that nothing worth speaking about ever comes from the safety of a comfort-zone. It is when you venture outside of what at first appears safe that you can create something magical. I love the message you are spreading.
Beautifully written comment. Thanks for taking the time to time watch my video and leave such a thoughtful response! 😊
Hi @coruscate, greetings from NIGERIA.
This is like the first time i'm watching your video and it's really inspiring.
I'm a fashion freak(an upcoming fashion designer) and a natural hair lover and i've never really thought about vlogging about these things.
But watching this video has inspired me to come out of my comfort zone and vlog about what i love.
Thank you so much for this video, it's like you were talking to me directly.
From now i'll be sure to never miss out on any of your posts.
Cheers💜
you have a peep hole in your wall/
Great post and good writing.i like your post and upvoted.
Everything that scares me,
Anything where I expose myself! So I started blogging first about where I was coming from. Tried to add value to the platform, yet feel I fell short of the mark.
Then moved into a daily vlog for a week, plan to get back there. This was huge commitment right out the gate to test my ability to record and edit on a short time frame.
Started a community to try give back, open love is one big take away from recent past happenings.
I started here with no real goals yet every step of the way I find some wall I have to knock down to get there.
First off, never blog or vlog before that’s completely new and was very hard to press the submit button yet after curation for a week I decided to write something I was passionate about and thus started my therapeutic journey. Many things melt off when I write which I had never know before, in itself an alarming experience!
Stage fright, in band class the crowd laughed while I had my bass solo because my neighbour who was very handicapped broke my concentration while cheering me on. Stuck with me forever and often I will screw up what I say trying to listen to myself when I notice eyes on me. Having to do shots over gives me a lot more practice at spitting the words out in succession so it’s helping on a worldly level even.
Learning to edit video, I made a few that were very hard to get through. Subjects that make me cry every time. Now I have a memory and a message to remind myself with, spoken by my own voice! The process of creating these videos was tough but it was needed at the time, forced reflection let’s say.
Basically to sum it all up, my entire experience has been learning! I say learning because refusing to let that negative energy you have stop you is the only way to let it go, knock down those walls!
I have thought about doing reading, in the spirit of curation yet I don’t know how well this will be received but I may give it a go eventually.
