Treasure Found at an Estate Sale!

Greetings! It's become a custom for us to visit estate sales every week now. Estate sale? Yes, that's when a house is being/was sold and all of the contents are put up for sale in order to literally clean house. It's almost like an indoor yard sale + garage sale + basement sale! And the last two are the best rooms, especially if it is an old house or elderly people lived there. I once found a little jar with some mercury in it and another time I found a mercury thermostat! I had to find a little jar to contain the toxic metal and take it home with me.
Lately, we haven't been to any really good estate sales but the last one was pretty decent. It had lots of old toys and that's where I found the 1989 Nintendo Gameboy, still with a game inside! The game was just Tetris, of course, but still. I took out the old batteries before I proceeded to "checkout". So when the lady asked me if it worked I said no. She only charged me $2 for the thing!
Once we were back in our home, I searched for some batteries to test the game. It uses 4 AA batteries. I flipped the switch and heard the classic Tetris theme. However, there was nothing on the screen. This could be a malfunction with the game but I didn't check if it worked with any of my others, something I probably should've done right away. But I took out the brand new batteries and put them away. This small machine will now go to my personal collection, along with its descendants the Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance, oh and also the Gameboy XP. I almost forgot about that last one because it was the newest member of my collection.
That's all for now.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks, Holybread!

That's an awesome find, regardless if it works, especially for 2$! Really solid work. I will have to check out estate sales. I see them every so often around here.

Check them out if they're nearby! I like going, the only thing is they're always far away from me.

You tricked the lady there lol I can't remember if we had that too. My brother has managed to keep some of his toys from the '90s.
