Cell Phone Repair Training, What to do when a Phone's not Charging

in #vincentb7 years ago (edited)

Early cell phones had really good batteries that when left in standby mode, could last for days before needing to be charged again. However, as our phones progressed over time, the resources required to support the use of our phones has significantly decreased the lifespan of our batteries. With all the applications running on our phones, our batteries get drained easily and we often over-charge the battery and charge it in a case that get very hot while charging which can also contribute to a shorter lifespan. The quality of the charging cable can also contribute to battery problems.

However, it could be many things as there are different types of charging problems, namely: Not Charging or No Charging Response and Charger Not Supported. When you tried charging your phone and “Not Charging” pops out on the screen, it could indicate that although the charger is being plugged in, the current amount of voltage is somehow not enough to power up your phone. It could be caused by a charging port circuit.

Another charging problem that you may be facing is the “No Charging” which means nothing happens even though you have tried numerous times plugging and unplugging your phone. This may have been caused by a problem with the charging port, or it could possibly be that the battery is no longer accepting a charge. A properly trained cell phone repair technician has the tools necessary to test the battery and narrow down the reason why the device is not charging.

If “Charger Not Supported” appears on your screen, ensure that you are using a certified charging cable or a cable from the original manufacturer. The wrong charging cable or wall adapter can cause problems with the battery that might include the battery heating up the device. Also check the charging cable to ensure that the cable is not damaged. Damaged cables should be replaced to ensure the proper amps are sent to the device.

This is just a quick tutorial of troubleshooting for basic charging problems that you may experience one of these days or one that you have been experiencing.
