D&D Campaign: Life of Morrak, Chapter 1: How did we get here Balron?

Morrak wakes from his slumber from a bump in the road, "Hey ya idiot, watch the road!" The driver grunts and yelled, "Shut yer filthy mouth Dwarf! You'll be at your stop soon enough. HeHeHe!" Handcuffed and on a cart to who knows where, Morrak looks to his right, sees his halfling friend, Balron, sleeping soundly. He looks in front of him to notice a half-orc just staring at him, He avoids his look and thinks to himself "Balron, How the hell did we get here?"

Three weeks before Morrak and Balron getting arrested, in a back room in a bar in the lawless city, Bamor, a dwarf standing a little under 5 feet shouts "Waiter! More mead here please!" laughing with a deep hearty laugh. "Morrak, Don't you think that's enough we have a job to handle soon and I need you focused. I almost lost my head with the last job." A short halfling sitting at about a mere 2ft enters the back room. "Balron shut yer trap, it was only a slight mix up!" Morrak slams his drink angrily. "How was I supposed to fucking know they had a mage with Clairvoyance with them!" The waiter appears with another cup of mead and hands it to Morrak. He sneers at the duo and leaves immediately. Balron tracks the waiter's movement and takes a peak out of the room. He sees the waiter talking to two suspicious looking fellows who has two papers in his hand. "Hey Dwarf, things might be getting messy soon," Balron says slowly closing the door, equipping his short sword. "You know my name use it, but a workout you say?" Grabs his two hand axes that were sitting next to him along with his bag of other things. Balron using the help from Morrak's strength to climb on the support beams "Light as ever." Morrak chuckles, Readying up for the door to open, a knock is heard coming from the door.

"We only want to talk, I think we have...Interests." A deep rough voice coming from the other side of the door. "Carrying bounty pictures of meh isn't much of an interest that I think I want to chat about?" After hearing Morrak's reply the door is pushed down and at that same moment Morrak throws an axe lodging it into the first enemy's head that charged through the door after three more rush in with swords ready, Balron drops down landing his sword into the rear guard's neck startling the other two, Morrak rushes in, jumps off the table, slicing one's neck with his axe and landing on the other making him stumble and fall. He tries to get up but notices a blade at his neck, "I'm not the best barber, as you can see." Balron says as he signals at his dead ally, "Now. WHO HIRED YOU?" Morrak retrieves his axe from the guys head and slides both axes into his holsters. He looks to see if his mead is still safe and to his surprise it is. "Sturdy table, HAHA!" Balron gives him a look and continues interrogating the bounty hunter. "It... It was Fargot. That cart you two robbed was his and he wants his wares back! You messed with the wrong group this ti..." Balron slits his throat "Thanks for the info. Morrak we have someone to visit." Morrak throws the cup at the wall "If I'm not mistaken, Fargot is that fellow that tried to double cross us in that dungeon a few months ago, what a coincidence that we just so happened to rob him. Well my Halfling friend, Let's go return Fargot his wares." Balron wipes off his blade smiles "Let's hope he has more wares we can take off his hands."

In a small town a three day trip from Bamor, "So do you really think they will really fall for this trap, master?" A masked human asks, "Well, from what this idiot Fargot has said, they love money but they can't resist killing those that attack them and that cart these idiots lost was imperative to our mission to help to build up The Village." A Masked half-orc says "Hmmmmm, this can also help us complete that squad we are building. I think if things go south, these two would definitely choose their life if they can save it." A young man runs approaching the two Masked people "There have been two horses spotted coming from the direction of Bamor, Ma'am!" The Masked half-orc turns to the Masked Human "I guess he didn't lie, get Fargot free we can use him to arrest these two. Get the others ready, they will be here in a few minutes."

Balron and Morrak ride into the town, using their memory from the last time they were here, head towards where Fargot's hideout is. Before they completely get there, they dismount their horses and began to make their plans. "Well, as we know he has a small crew of people, not too many only about 6-10 of them and they aren't going to be friendly." Morrak states, "So that leaves our go to plan out the window. Not only, that I don't remember the layout." Balron says "I think we should wait on this one maybe, it would be safer." As they are talking Balron notices Fargot walking towards his hideout and Balron nudges Morrak, "Or the goblin dung idiot will give himself to us... Fargot!" Morrak yells, startling Fargot as Balron and Morrak rush over to him but before they even get there two gunshots are heard as they both dodge backwards as the dirt flys then a shout is heard "The next two will be to kill! Make a move you will be killed!" The Masked half-orc shows herself with a musket drawn, and without them noticing the masked human is behind them with his sword drawn. "Drop your weapons, sirs it will make this situation. Easier."

"Fuck who would've thought we would get caught Morrak? There is more than just them too." As archers are spotted on top of houses bow drawn and pointed at them they drop their weapons. "I'm going to save us both sometime One, we got the supplies that you stole from us, we gave Fargot a tracking scroll to put on the supplies and we have confiscated everything in your stash so now you are practically broke. Two, We have a proposition." Morrak and Balron look at each other surprised and at the same time say "What is this proposition?" "Jails are a waste for fellows like you, so we are giving you a choice, you guys are good, really good, how 'bout putting those skills to something that could make you more money without gaining a bounty, join our organization and we will abolish all of your crimes and your bounty." she approaches them both and throw the masked man a set of handcuffs as she handcuffs Morrak and the human handcuffs Balron. "Morrak, what do you say?" "Well, its always better than rotting away in a prison somewhere Balron, and the booze sucks there I hear." A horse cart with a covered back pulls up and they open the back helping Morrak and Balron up "I'll take that as a yes then. Where you have to go is a two-week travel but you guys have to make a stop to pick up another uhhh..... teammate, so it will take you three weeks." Morrak yells "Do we have to be cuffed still?" "Yes, I don't trust you two yet. Safe travels you two, the driver will have your weapons and bags." She slams the door shut and they hear a padlock being secured on the door.
