Countdown is British television at its undoubted best, still being on air over 30 years later is testament to that.
Since the first episode aired in 1982 there’s obviously been a number of lineup changes but the format has remained. Even in the comedy spin-off put together by the 8 out of 10 cats cast.
Obviously, with any kind of quiz show there’s moments when we unearth moments of sheer genius. Those “how the f**k?!” moments. However there’s one answer in the numbers round of the show that stands out amongst the rest.

You know when something is confusing the genius that is Carol Vorderman then it’s pretty big. Most people guess that he was working backwards with an algebraic approach. However he did it, it’s damn impressive.
