Video game cheaters

in #videogames7 years ago

Quick post here.

Why do people feel it's necessary to ruin a video game by hackinhg/cheating? They are meant to be fun yet these people remove the joy. Instead of playing fairly and levelling up etc like everyone else they hack the game to get advantages like unlimited money or resources or energy. The devs try to stop it of course but its a never ending battle and its virtually impossible for them to catch all the cheaters.
The so called freemium games are the worst. Even without cheaters the games always devolve into a pay to win model where the only way to achieve top spots are to cash hard. Despite what devs always claim (that money is not required to be top) its simply falacious since no matter the time or effort spent on the game, a major casher can simply spend their way to a higher level negating perhaps months of non cashing or moderate cashing play.
I realize devs need to make money and if i enjoy a game i always spend some money to support it. But i cant nor would i ever spend thousands per month on a game. A new model is needed so devs can get paid and players can all have a fair chance. I have come up with such a model but sadly im not a programmer nor do i own a business to hire them.
Personally, im done with any games where they are freemium model or where dedpite being premium (paid for) cashing stills buys advantages.
Please let me know in the comments what your thoughts are.

Yep I know what you're saying. I honestly don't even see freemium mobile games as real games. To me they are a waste of time, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't really come across cheaters in online games sense It's not really possible or super rare in games like fighting games and fps games on next gen consoles. It must really suck to come across them in a game that you really like.
