Furi is an extremely stylized, clean game that seems objectively minimal. There is very little active story, and unlike portal there aren't really hidden clues you can find to gain a better understanding of the world. There isn't much down time, or crazy cut scenes. There are basically 3 things that this game focuses on, and does it well: The graphic style, the music, and the boss fights.
This games is a string of boss fights. That's all it is. If you like dodging attacks, learning bosses fight patterns, and dying over and over again, you will like this game. If you don't, stay away. I personally got this game in a bundle, and figured I would try it as I had heard good things about it, yet I came away bored. It was fast paced, it was a good difficulty, and it had decent combat, which is all you can ask, yet it simply was too slimmed down down for me. Nothing kept me engaged enough to fail a hundred times only to face the next boss. Unlike big bosses in bigger games, this had no story, or hook, or desire to keep learning more about the world. It was a game, pure and true, and ultimately I expected more.
Overall, it is only worth the buy if you truly enjoy hard boss battles like dark souls, but don't care about anything else but the combat/gameplay.
