Absolutely amazing to see such a close-up view! I'm from Virginia USA so we have them out in the country areas. I live in Richmond now and I miss the soothingly-strange sounds. I really love the picture of the shells! They used to creep out my son when he was a kid, so I made sure to have one on hand every time we played outside lol.

I have never seen them in this much detail though, you are right you two were truly lucky to have been able to capture these moments! It's a beautiful example of growth and evolution.

-Sorry for the re-edit- I thought of a question: People say there are 7 year Cicada's, but I remember hearing them many years growing up, way more often than every 7 years. Does anybody know more about the different types of Cicada's? That would be a fun discussion.
