I'll add my experience here. I was 18 at the time. This was 18 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday it was that important of a moment in my life.

I was in my room and upon waking I recognized I was in the in between state of sleep and being awake. I think it's called alpha. I told myself to rise up out of your body. I said this repeatedly until I started to feel vibrations and hearing an om oscillating sound. I started to lift up from my body. I was close to the ceiling and looking at my body. My body wasn't me. It was a shell a carcus. Just an instrument that carried me. I was me. I was a pure light energy. I was bright like a light. Could see 360 degrees around me. I spoke to God. He was funny and unconditionally loving. Nothing we do here on earth is wrong. It's just an experience. He told me the reason for this life is to love and learn. That's it. From that moment on I knew there was a higher power and more to this life than our earthly bodies. What a release. Life-changing. @mrs.steemit thanks for the lovely share.
