Somebody once explained to me why time feels like it speeds up as we get older and it made perfect sense.
When you go from age 1 to 2, it takes the length of your entire lifetime to get to that second year. If you could remember it, it would have seemed like it lasted a lifetime. When you go from 2 to 3, it only takes 1/3 of your life to pass that year. And then age 3 to 4 would only be 1/4 of your lifetime. So when you get to your 30's, each year is only 1/30th of your complete life so it's going to seem like it goes by faster because it is such a smaller fraction of all your life experiences.
I'm not sure if that makes sense but it blew my mind when I first heard it.
