This release is an update to address a security vulnerability within Electron/Windows and all Windows users are encouraged to update to 0.2.7 as soon as possible. Linux and macOS users are unaffected.
What is Vessel?
Vessel is a desktop wallet for the Steem blockchain, which can be downloaded and run on your computer. Vessel is free to use and open source, and is designed to be a way to help secure your account on the Steem blockchain. While using Vessel, your keys/password never leave the app, transactions are signed locally, and then broadcast to the network much like any other downloadable cryptocurrency wallet.
Here's a few of the other most recent updates, as well as the original announcement:
- 2017/01/15 - 0.2.6 Release
- 2017/01/12 - 0.2.5 Release
- 2017/12/09 - 0.2.0 Release
- 2017/05/20 - Original Announcement
Download Vessel
Vessel is still beta software and it's recommended that you treat it as such. Before committing irreversible actions on your account (such as large outgoing transfers), please test with smaller amounts to ensure it's working properly on your computer.
Download available on github for macOS (.dmg
file), Windows (.exe
file) and Linux (.snap
and .deb
files).

A special thanks out to @sneak for notifying me of this issue.
Love the work you doing, thanks for helping the community.
Yes thanks from me too :-)
sire this new fix is really great and Lovely, as i read here and now every thing becomes more secure and trusted,, pls i do like to make my own suggestions, is it possible the vessel compatible only for Windows, get a version for the Android users also, it do be awesome sire, vessel is easier and can be use to delegate sp and its very easy if it has an android app i think many steemians will use it as its a whole lot simpler in delegating and securing account.
this is a good effort
Thank you bug This update release is intended to address a security vulnerability within Windows and all Windows users are encouraged.
nice work to you
Nice. Really did not know this!
@jesta It seems that users in China can't use your wallet. What a pity!
In fact, I want to use.
Why not? Unable to connect to servers or unable to downoad?
The software that disconnects to the internet so often(too frequently).
Maybe disconnects to the servers, I didn't really know, I'm not good at coding(programming)
And I was a little afraid of putting my key in the box of that software.
The public RPC servers have been going through some growing pains lately, which is likely the source of the disconnects.
Thanks for your answers and your contributions to steemit, I 'll keep focusing on you. Many thanks.
Could this be what is preventing me from delegating at the moment? I get an error when I try delegating Steem.
Btw, Thanks for the awesome wallet.
The most common error I see happening with delegations is related to power downs. If you're powering down your balance, you can't delegate. But the connection issues could also be playing a part in it, if that's not the case.
Yes, that was it. I forgot I had a small power down going. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
How can we determine this in an rpc call? Hmm... I just canot help you test. I need to upgrade my machines first.
Great job, it's wonderful how you're helping this platform grow.. Keep it up.

thanks for the update @jesta
i seems the vessel is really simple to use
Thank you for letting us know @jesta! :)
If only I knew where to check the version. Do I have to download it again or is there anyway how to upgrade it manually?
It's in the title of the window, and if it doesn't show a version, it's pretty old :)
To upgrade you've just gotta download it again and rerun the installer.
Thanks a lot!
Now if they can patch spectre everything will be fine :P

Hi. Not sure if you willsee this. I installed vessel and it says connection error. Trying another server just does nothing.
@jesta Good, good. A question; There is no Vessel program but for 32 bits, I've been searching but I can not find any. Could you please support me with that?
Really?? It is only for 64 bits as I recall. If you mean you cannot find a 32 bit version. You may be able to compile it yourself. It was a long time ago I wrote something about that. Probably was not necessary al the steps I did but it was enough.
So have you kept with your original design for the steem urls or have decided to remove the need for the leading slash, or have you settled on something else?
finds this a nice post that helps people thank you
New to this, and trying it! Thanks!
@jesta
hi, could you, please, add RUDEX gateways for STEEM/SBD to exchanges in the next Vessel release :)
