Reflections on Reflections: An Exploration of Light, Color, and Texture

A visit to the Bennington Museum, Vermont

I love bringing my sketchbook to museums. It gives me an opportunity to draw freely from the various displays, taking just what I want here and there. Once I complete the ink drawings, I sometimes turn them into vector versions later. I created two drawings here, both of which became vector versions.

Artifacts and Exhibitions

Vermont’s Bennington Museum showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of the area. It features a diverse collection of artifacts and exhibitions that offer a unique glimpse into the past. I was amazed at how many cottage industries existed here years ago. Early American decorative arts, American paintings, furniture makers, glass factories, and the famous Bennington pottery. There was even an auto manufacturer here.

The museum's American paintings collection includes works by prominent artists such as Grandma Moses, John Greenleaf Whittier, and Gilbert Stuart. These are my interpretations taken from the various exhibits.
